I just finished a reloading session for my M1 Garand and was admiring my assortment of full enblocs when I decided to see if there were any hints to make the loading job easier.

I'm sure many of the members knew that John Garand had designed an enbloc loading device, but this was new to me, so I thought I'd share in case anyone had not seen this:

That was awesome! I just don't think I would be able to successfully build one of those or afford to load enough 30-06 to justify having such a loader lol. Thanks for sharing, I never knew such a thing existed :)

Millions of Garands made and only 500 of these. Got to be the reason. :D

That's a good observation! I appreciate it as I would any machine --- I admire design, craftsmanship, and innovation, regardless of its ultimate usefulness, or lack there-of.

That being said, if I were the poor guy who got dumped with a few thousand rounds of M2 ball and told to load them up by sundown, I'd sure be happy to have that gizmo around. It would at least save my fingers.

Interesting, but you need a more efficient way to load individual cartridges into the tower. Maybe an upsized EZ Loader like I use to load. 22LR mags.

Why reload clips when they came from the factory that way?

On a related theme, I read a detailed description of forming spring steel into the finished shape. Many steps, several machine sets and nothing made the way you'd expect. It was posted on the old Jouster list at least 8 yrs ago.

Nifty gadget, but about as useful to the average shooter as an electric belly button lint remover.;)
