Looking for a lightweight -30 06 hunting rifle. Alot of choices out there but came across the Remington Model 7 at 61/2 lbs.

Just looking for the ONE precision and well made hunting rifle to be honest. Lightweight would be a plust :agree:

I picked up a BROWNING X-BOLT WHITE GOLD MEDALLION 30 06 with a Nikon 2.5-5-10x50 prostaff 7 .

You can get a Weatherly MK V ultra lite in 30-06 and I belive it is about 5 3/4 pounds. Also a model 7 is a short action, its not available in a 30-06

They're pretty expensive but they do have a 30 06 5.5 lbs one that retails for $1299. Looking for a sale on one

Wholesale sports Has Savage lightweight hunter on sale For under 600 mite not be fancy but if it go's bang and puts a bullet wear your aiming who realy cares

Buy a kimber, a little pricy but you don't have to pour money into it to "get it right" after you buy it like a few other lightweight rifles. I have a Montana that is a great gun to carry and have an 84L classic select that is very easy to carry. The stocks fit me very well so that makes me a biased about them when it comes to recoil and light rifles, more importantly they are more than enough accurate for hunting. I have had good luck with an m700 that was almost light enough to be a mountain rifle, sold it though to buy a more quality gun. I just picked up an m70 featherweight that weighs more than the Kimber rifles, I will see how it shoots and maybe pour some money into it but it won't be as cheap as a kimber afterwards.

Thanks for the suggestions . A buddy of mine uses the Benelli semi auto. Not a fan of semi auto vs bolt action for hunting

T3 Lite weighs 6.5 lbs in a long action with a full sized barrel

Tough to go wrong with this. Add a spare mag, limb saver recoil pad, and you are setup well. The spare mags are scary pricey though. Good to have spare and not need it than need it and not have it. One thing I like on rifles is the hunter specialties rifle pouches. Seem to be better quality pouches than others out there. Handy and nice suede for cheek rest.

As said the model 7 is only in short actions. How about one in 350 rem mag! Or a 7saum! Of course. Only helps if you're a reloader because ammo for either is pixie dust as of late it seems.
