Had a conversation with a guy today at the range and he said it was legal to have 10 rounds in an AR mag??? I always thought 5 rounds was the legal limit? Isn't 5 rounds the max for all center fire rifles? If so, this would be a pain in the arse for service rifle competitions wouldn't it?

All the confusing magazine restrictions are here. Quoted below are the parts that make shooting AR's really depressing in Canada.

Former Cartridge Magazine Control Regulations

3. (1) Any cartridge magazine

(a) that is capable of containing more than five cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed and that is designed or manufactured for use in....

(ii) a semi-automatic firearm other than a semi-automatic handgun,

5 rounds...

The only thing I can think of is a pump action AR I saw a while ago that had modified mags so it could use 30 round mags.

before c68 each province 'COULD" exempt you from the mag capacity NONE EVER did and with c68 that exemption was REMOVED want over 5/10 rnds move to the U.S or join the army as its not going to change anytime soon
