mag extension on a Grizzly 8.5"

The longer the extention, the more it will be buffeted with powder and wad residue. A one shot extenttion would look odd, but probably work. A two shot would be stretching it.

If you want a pistol grip, I suggest getting a rail forend, as the 8.5 inch pumps are modified and not backwards compatible with the 12.5 inch and longer guns. While you didn't mentione barrels, JIC you don't already know, no other barrel will fit on your gun without custom work due to the barrel ring being in a unique location on the 8.5 inch models.

The extension will look kind of silly, sticking beyond the barrel, and it'll get tons of powder burns. Whether it'll be "safe" depends on how much you use it, and how many rounds you give it at any one time. I'm pretty sure a few hundred rounds in one afternoon, would do some pretty severe damage. On the other hand, if it's carried more than shot, I doubt a round or three at a time wouldn't do much worse than cosmetic damage. Of course, if you weren't planning on blasting away, you'd probably not be looking to add an extension for more rounds.

hmm maybe some steel or other metel pipe sliped over it(just on the steped part and not stiking up passed it) would help but i got this for my new tractor/atv gun for wolf and coyote but i think the 3 rounds it holds should do the job hmm now to work up a good load for it :stirthepot2:

If you really want to play it up, send it to Casey at Tac-Ord. If the barrel is thick enough, I bet he could fit it with one of his breachers indexed to the mag extention, only deleting the vent holes along the bottom.
