Mag for a Winchester Model 490

Hi,

I have a Winchester Model 490 (.22) and I have only a single five shot clip. This makes for a super long day at the range....
Does anyone know if larger clips exist for this gun? And were i can acquire one? Can a modify a clip from a different Winchester?
I'll even take a couple more 5 shot magazines, if someone can direct me to those.

Yes, 10-shot clips were available. Don't know about the interchange.

Did you try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton?
Sometimes they have small numbers of parts, that they have on hand, but will not catalogue.

The mags look very much like the Lakefield- Savage steel mags, but the clip mounting is different. 10 Shots are available, but found more easily in the USA.

I have a Winchester 490 and found it an accurate , trouble free gun, actually it is sold in USA as a Cooey 6C.

Call Bashaw Sports, I bought a 10 rounder from them for my brother in law a few years ago for his 490, I think around 30 bucks. Later.

Doesn't use clips. 5 or 10 round magazines only. Try Epp's is listing 5 round mags at $29 each. Under 'This 'n That. Try the gun shows too.
Gunparts, Stateside, wants $20.50US each for a 10 round mag, when they have 'em.

Winchester used the same mag for a number of models. I just traded a 490 today and it had a 10 round mag that went with it. I have a Win 69 with 5 rounder same as the 490.
