Mag-Nut's Stevens 200 abomination!!11

That second stock you did is really nice. I'm inspired to do my own. What is the textured stippling?

The first one is kinda nasty though, looks like you got impatient for it to be over. Was it the fiberglass bondo?

The first one was bad. It didn't work out and the more I tried it just didn't work. The figerglass was impossible to work with. Im-frikken-possible!!

The stippling is just more bondo. I should have took some pics of that process too. I just taped off what I wanted to stipple and then wore a surgical glove, got lots of bondo on it and kinda spread it on with my hand and then ruffed it up. I then sanded the jagged edges once it hardened.

Before everyone runs out and tried this I have NO idea what kind of abuse it will withstand. In that regards I think the fiberglass would do better. The fiberglass was lighter too. What that first stock did tho is kinda learned by my mistakes and tried again. "If" I ever try this again I will do things different again. Like bedding the action before I paint. I would take more time with the forend and make sure that everything was even is it was "slightly" off. Just used more bondo to hide the mistakes.

That looks awesome, I'm just starting a Stevens 200 overhaul myself and its cool to see someone else with the same goals. I've decide to avoid the bondo and work with something easier...... aluminum! :p:p:p

Interesting. For your first stock, were you using the green bondo w/ short strand fiberglass? What problems did you have with it? I've used it before (on my car bumper) and found it difficult to apply smoothly/evenly until I got a bit of practice with it. I used a thin layer of regular "pink" bondo ontop to smooth things out, came out really nice considering I practically fabricated the corner of the bumper with fiberglass/bondo.

I've been practicing with it and trying some loads. I'm liking the 162 Amax and H1000. I'm getting used to the recoil.
I also am using a super mag recoil shoulder pad. I adjusted the trigger so it is nice and crisp and has no creep. Everything really helped so that I don't anticipate the recoil and I can concentrate better.

I chronoed the load from today which was 69g H1000 with 162g Amax and was getting 3048fps.
