What mags are you guys running? I recently bought a Stag off the EE that came with a couple mags that don't feed reliably and only lock the bolt back about 50% of the time, I need some good reliable mags. What do you recommend?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with those ZM... those are the 2 the rifle came with, and I believe they're C-products mags, with Magpul followers.

FWIW, I never ever had a feed issue with either... maybe the feed lips have become a little worn or opened up a bit?

Im using some mags marked as Brownell's on the bottom. Been working okay so far... though lately they won't lock into the rifle when loaded with 5rnds and I have to take one out to get it to stay. Time to buy some 10 rounders I think.

"...I need some good reliable mags..." For what?

So that I don't have to do stoppage drills everytime I try to fire my Stag.

Where can I get P-Mags? I'm not really interested in the 10 rounders, but does the same company make 5/30 rounders, if the 10's work well I'm sure thier other products would also.

I like original Colt 5/20 mags. Of course, they aren't much good if you're shooting from the prone. For that I like good ol' milspec 5/30. Don't really have any experience with Magpul followers, P mags, etc...

I'm surprised that you're having issues with C Products mags. From everything that I've heard they are supposed to be an excellent product.

C Products QC FELL apart with their SS mags - and now to the Alum mags -- It seems they have simply tried to pump out too many mags.

BigRed got 3x30's in 12 he bought in the US for trg down there that would not feed at all and had mangled feedlips -- NIB.

Several of the 5rd lanced mags I have are pretty porr and I needed a file to get them to work...

I have:

C Products LLC .223/5.56 SS with grey follower : no issues at all

NHMTG S/42 green follower (that came with the Armalite) : no issues at all

NHMTGs S/42 green follower (bought from Wolverine) : no issues at all

RRA model LAR-15 Pistol Magazines (10 rounder) : have yet to try...

bravo company
Are these a brand of mags?

Thanks for the advice fella's it seems from the responses that mags are hit and miss form the various manufacturers. I'm going to try tweaking the ones I have and see if I can get them to work reliably, before springing for some new ones.
