Mag Tube Extension on a Marlin Guide Rifle

Has anyone had a mag tube extension done on their Marlin Guide Rifle? Or know a gun smith that can do it?

It's caled the 1895CB...all the 45-70 you can carry under a 26" barrel.

Seriously, why would you want a logner mag tube on the GG? Would you even gain more than 1 shot by taking the mag out to the end of the barrel?

I picked up the Marlin 1895SBL with extend 6-shot tublar magazine

my brother did it to his, before marlin made them that way. he bought a tube extension for a cowboy, and had the mount moved on the barrel. he said it holds six in the mag.

A stainless GG plus all the add ons (trigger, extractor, loop lever, scope rail, ghost rings) would likely come to about the same.

Wholesale Sports is listing it for $1099...whether they have any or not is another matter.

bignix...head over to Marlin Owners Forum and look under 45/70. There are a few threads about mag extensions. One fellow is offering carbon fibre tubes too.

Yes, I was only able to find it in Waterloo.
Epps and Al simmons had it for $1040 but they couldn't even say when they'd get them in.

Good thing I didn't have to pay for mine
It was a graduation present from my parents.
