Magazine Capacity

Good day CGners

I’ve spent the last 8 years working abroad, living in South America and Africa. I was in Brazil for two years shooting IPSC in production and standard for fun before the pandemic, then I decided to come back home for good.

Since came back can’t start shooting again as I have to go through the safety course that is simply impossible to take for the last 8 months. Even can’t find a way to get a hook of IPSC Ontario in regards membership.

I have a question and hope someone can clarify:

In Canada I had only shot standard, using 10 rounds magazines as I everyone else I had the chance to watch and compete with during the matches, BUT, some people was saying that as long as you have a unaltered magazine for a specific caliber limited to 10 rounds(let’s say in 40SW), than you could load 12 rounds of 9mm. That should be an advantage for production or even standard minor.

Is that allowed for IPSC tournaments in Canada? Sorry if already came up but I couldn’t find this topic and feel free to delete the tread if it is not a valid subject.

The Canadian version of the IPSC rulebook specifically says only ten rounds loaded into a magazine.
