Magazine extension on a remington 887 nitro mag?

Thinking about using my 887 pump for 3 gun, but I'd like some extra capacity. The barrels on the 887s have the goofy "armor cladding" on them, so I'm wondering how a mag tube extension would work.

Anyone have an extension on an 887, or know if it's doable?

Lol well, if anyone is wondering, it is possible. But being a machinist helped. Same threads as the 870, but the mag cap nut on the 887 is about 3/4" longer, so I had to machine a spacer tube to make up the difference (made it out of bronze, cuz why the hell not. Looks neat-o IMO). And die grind out the crimps in the end of the mag tube. And grind a bit of the armor coating off the barrel to make room for the threaded section of the extension.

And a barrel clamp from a Mossberg 590 worked more or less ok, with a longer screw to accommodate the fatter barrel.

So all that work, and about $160 later, I have 3extra rounds of capacity. Lol.
