Does anyone know where I can get a magazine feed lip tool in Canada? I can't find one anywhere...

Preferably looking for H-S PRECISION - MAGAZINE FEED LIPTOOL

Picked up an MDT Tac-21 Chassis for a Tikka in 6.5x55. The mags MDT Sells are for the .300 WM and I need to close the lips up

These mags are strong and Needle nose pliers are not working.

Have you looked at Accurate Mag .30-06 SSSF (Single Stack Single Feed) magazines? Pretty sure they share the same external dimensions as the .300 WM SSSF magazines, but would likely work better for the 6.5x55 case.
 
Thanks, I was told by MDT that only there mags will work for the Tikka Long Actions. I also have $160 into these 2 mags that need adjustment so I'd rather find the feed lip tool and make the modification.

I'm surprised a google search of "magazine feed lip tool Canada" brings up nothing....
 
Tried needle nose vice grips, the sideways torque twists them, these lips are strong, normal vice grips wont work, too fat....

Just ordered sheet metal pliers which looks like it may do the job.
 
I use an AR 15 armourer's tool. It is like a multi tool that fits in the end of a pistol grip. Has a kinds of useful bits on it including a bit for adjusting feed lips on mags. Fits everything from AR15 to hunting mags.

This, I have pretty much the same set up as you.

Get sheet metal vice grips and go slow. While you are at it you should get some high grit sand paper and smooth them out. I can take measurements off mine if you want.

Do not use any magazine aside from true Accuracy International Magazines. The 30-06 magazines do not work and I found them to be of inferior quality.
