clip

Cabela's has them listed in the 2008 catologue for 63.99, probably more now. What kind of recoil do you get from that 450? Was just looking at one for sale.
Thanks

shooting the hornady leverevolution i dont find uncomfortable at all if your into handloading once you get up to 400grain bullets or bigger you get some pretty hot recoil though, my one word of advise is if your using a scope make sure you have enough eye relief. im running a elite 32oo 1.5-4x32 and on full power i've bit myself with the scope a few times when i wasnt holding onto it tight enough lol:rolleyes:. personally i think it is one bada$$ caliber:cool:

I would compare the recoil on my 450 to a 12 gauge 2 3/4" slug load. The leverution 325 grains and 300 grain hand loads with 59 grains of h322 are so similar that I can't tell the difference. It seems like the recoil is a little slower than than say a 300 mag just not as sharp. Where the 300 will slap you the 450 will push you. That said it did rattle one inner lens in 1.25x4.25 30mm tasco titan loose which has me confused. I had a titan on a savage muzzle loader that I lent to a friend and he loaded it twice and blew it up bending the scope and it is still clear as the day I bought it.

recoil

No worries about scope eye relief, if I buy one it would be a XS sight used for a close range bear basher. Good to know recoil is in 12 gauge slug territory, was just wondering about recoil in the 6 1/2 pound BLR compared to a 7 pound Marlin. I like the clip idea and the pistol grip Browning is nearly as traditional looking as the Marlin.
