I know of only 2 sources for Detachable Box Magazines (DBM) available as aftermarket conversions for the Weatherby Vanguard :
(1) As mentioned above, Weatherby markets it's own DBM conversion kit for Vanguard rifle chambered in long (e.g. .25-06/.270/.30-06) cartridge sizes.
The kit replaces the steel floorplate, spring and trigger guard with a plastic magazine that holds 3 rounds. http://www.weatherby.com/product/accessories/shootersaccessory/40440
Yes, the detachable magazines are made of plastic - which may not necessarily be a bad thing.
However, what is not clear from the reviews and advertising is whether or not the new floorplate and trigger guard in the kits are made of metal or plastic. I personally do not like plastic trigger guards and bottom "metal".

Dave is the Weatherby service guy for B.C.? Western Canada? Great guy to deal with, give him a call.
Can someone please tell me why you would need more than 3+1 rounds in a 270 which is presumably for hunting? could someone please also explain to me why you would need even more than what could be provided by carrying aditional magazines which are quickly swapped out?
