Magazine Lee–Enfield, or MLE, What is their Ballpark Value?

Hey guys/girls.

Guy I know came across an old MLE, from 1896. Grandfathers or such what. Rifle is in very decent condition but the wood has been cut down, to just after the volly sight (Front and rear still there), and does not have the extra aperature sight.

Otherwise rifle is intact, uncut barrel, etc.

I know it's worthless without pics but.... Could someone give me just a general idea as to what something like that could be worth?

Just my thoughts since you have asked for opinions...

Rebuilding one of these is costly and difficult to get parts, fix stocks etc.

I have seen intact specimens in the 1000-1500 range. Canadian marked, un-messed with examples command the higher values

If they are cut and missing bits, there is little collector value and the rifle is a shooter 303 or a parts gun for another.

I would suspect that the value would be 300-500 range. For the upper end, this presumes good bore, matched bolt/receiver, barrel uncut, wood not refinished, preferably Canadian some markings

Perhaps others will chime in to give additional valuation estimates.

Sounds spot on to me..
