Magazine problem

I have a Dominion Kodiak shotgun. When I insert the second shotshell in the mag it just barely goes in, and then stops, as if it is hitting something.

But I am pretty sure that is not hitting anything because the problem is the same if it is a pair of 2 3/4" shells or a pair of 3" shells.

I am guessing maybe an issue with the shell stop. ??

Any ideas?

It is not the plug because the jam feels exactly the same with both long and short shells.

The backwards follower is an interesting idea. I bought this used. I have not had the mag apart, but the previous owner may have. This may not even be the correct follower.

What do you think?

I’d pull the plug out and see if it hangs up anywhere while loading the tube to the max, if not then it’s likely the plug. If it does it still with no plug then I’d look further into the spring and follower as well as inspect the mag tube itself for anything out of spec.

I assume that the end cap of the mag is removed and then somehow the spring and follower comes out?

When I take the end cap off there appears to be something holding the spring in the mag. Now what?

I want to take the spring and follower out. But the tube has this on the end of it. Now what?

Can you push that insert down into the mag tube?
If so, see if this restricts the shells even further entering in the proper way.
This may solve your problem.

How to get that out?
Is that a place to put a finger and gift it the heave hoe?

It looks like you can get a flathead screwdriver under the tab and pry the mag tube cap out, at least that’s what I see in the pic. Or does it push in and rotate and pop out like an 870 express mag tube cap?

Yes! I pried the ring off and found that there is a plastic plug in there. Took it out, put the cap back on and filled the mag with 4 rounds.

Thank you.

Isn't CGN wonderful?
