Magazine repair/overhaul?

I have a problem with one of the mags for my S&W 5946... when there is one round left in the mag, the slide will sometimes lock back as if it is empty. This is the only mag I own that does this.

I have no idea how hard this one has been used, my guess is a lot, which leads me to wonder is it is something that can be fixed, or is the thing just worn out?

Check/replace the follower.

Try swapping with a known mag first.

Also, if your mag lips are opened up slightly, they may allow the follower to engage the slide lock prematurely. Compare the lip angle to your other known serviceable mags and adjust the N/S one accordingly...
