As the title of the thread states, I have tried all my VZ-58/CZ-858 mags in a new CSA VZ-58.
Will not fit at all. I know some mags can fit differently than others, but this isn't it. They just can't get past the mag catch. Fit fine on my VZ-58, but not the CSA.
Any ideas on how to remedy this?
Here's a pic of the two side by side if that helps. (CSA on right, regular VZ on left)

Here's another, still kind of cr@p, so I'll try again with a better camera.
The only difference I see is that the regular VZ has a deeper cut at the fron of the magwell.

The cut in the front of the mag well on the CSA is different than the CZ858. Not sure if it has something to do with the ambi safety but my mags required removing some paint off to fit.

About 3/4 of my mags wouldn't latch up properly in my CSA. I removed material from the face of the mag catch and that fixed it.

Do your mags fit any better with the OEM mag catch installed?

Thiis happened on my CSA it would not take most of my mags.. Take the bolt carrier and dust cover out , then try to put the mag in a bare receiver , if it seats fine then most likely its your bolt carrier tab stopping the mag from fully seating you might have to file a bit off the front edge of the tab.. If the mag wont go in the bare field striped receiver then you should be able to see where the mag contacting easy , sometimes the front face of the ejector post in the receiver must be filed down a bit for the mag to fit in fully , this is what was wrong with my CSA i filed the Ejector face a tiny bit now all mags work ..

Not sure what the problem would be. The cutout in the front of my CSA 7.62 magwell is different from that of the 858 and other 58's I've owned. Mine looks pretty much the same as yours, and works fine. I even have the same aftermarket ambi mag release...

No idea. I've tried out all my mags, which fit the regular VZ-58 just fine. So it can't be an issue with the magazine. I am very curious to know what it could be.

I think it is the magazine. Just cause they fit without issue in your cz858 doesn't mean they will fit in your CSA. The mag well in the CSA is tighter which is why everyone had to remove some of the paint or file some area's on the magazine if it wasn't seating.

It's not just the 858 mags that don't fit, the CSA ones don't either. It's not a paint thing either. I know thick paint can make the fit tight, but this isn't even close. Side to side the fit is fine, it's the front to back dimension that is way off.

I tried it with the bolt carrier, etc. removed. Same problem.

Did you try it with the mag catch removed?

No. Too lazy to remove it at the moment. But my CZ-858 has the exact same catch installed, with no problems.
Either way, it should fit, as the length of the protrusion is the same on the stock catch as the NEA one. Will measure them again to make sure.

"Should" has nothing do do with reality. As I said in my original reply, the mag catch in my CSA had to have material removed from the face in order to accept all of my mags.

I have the same mag catch in mine, and had to do some fitting to make it work with the bolt release, but the mags fit fine. I agree, though - I'll bet it's a mag release issue also.

Good point. I will take a closer look at the mag release. I hope that is the problem. Will post an update. Thanks for the help guys

Same here.

Some might recall me posting that not only did I wind up having to remove some material, but I also had to change the angles on the mag release paddle.

Love the part. Wont be changing it out any time soon. But getting these to fit every make of Cz seems to have been a difficult run.

Steve is right. Go back to the orig mag catch and test. If it works fine, you know you have some fitting considerations to make.
