This relates specifically to the Promag 9-22 Mag (10 Rd Capacity) that comes with the Marauder (Nomad) stock kit.

Maybe a bunch of you already knew this, but I had no idea. The 10 Rd mag is actually a 25 Rd mag with a plastic chunk inside that limits capacity to 10. I just went out and bought a 25 Rd 9-22 mag and it came with disassembly instructions. It looked easy so I popped open both the 10 and 25 rd mags to see what the difference was.

I pulled the magazines out of their cosmetic cases, and right away I saw that the magazines were the same length. Removed the floorplates and eased out the spring and sure enough the 10 rd mag had an insert that was banana shaped. A quick couple of snips and a light sanding later, and the insert looked the same as the one in the 25 rd mag. Filled both up, and they each hold 25 rds.

I assume this was done at the factory to comply with local regulations i.e. California, but we don't need to worry about that for 22LR, so have at it.

Be forewarned: I cannot guarantee that this will not affect the functioning of the mag. Alter at your own risk.
