I agree. Not sure that would hold zero, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I am always one for trying new things and considering how the dust cover rail has been the best option for mounting optics for me I just went ahead and ordered one of these magnet dust cover rails.
Even if it doesn't work the greatest it's not that big of a loss (69.99 US) for it so it isn't a big deal.

I'll let ya guys know how it works once i receive it.

No way in hell that thing will hold zero lol might shoot in the general area but i doubt you could put any decent groups together with that thing ..

He does specify that it will hold and retain zero with red dots and if you don't believe him then don't buy it, lol. Just because of that is why I bought it.
