MagnetoSpeed Chrono on the way!!

I cannot imagine this unit being strapped to the barrel is going to be that great for harmonics,
Therefore the load development has to be done separate from chronographing
You may save time with the set up but to have to add a extra step of speed testing separate to any development tests will end up taking a lot longer as well as more ammo/components

I decided after looking at these units to stick with the chrony beta, it may not be as appealing to the gear heads out there but sometimes you can't beat simple

I've had one for a month or so, and have been doing a bunch of load development in a couple sporter rifles, a heavy barreled 308 bolt, and two heavy barreled AR's with Wylde chambers, due to changing to more readily available powders.

Any load that has shot well with the magnetospeed on the barrel has shot well with it off, and the reverse has also been true.

Like most things, i am sure this will not be the case 100% of the time, and I suppose it is possible to bypass a good load because it didn't shoot while being clocked, but it has proven to be true enough to me that I will continue to do load development while using the magnetospeed on the gun.

Ive had the same experience with my hunting rifles which have medium barrels. Im sure it makes some difference, but there has not been a big enough difference for me to notice it

I have only noticed a point of impact shift but group sizes have stayed consistent

Well, finally made it to range yesterday to try my new magneto speed sporter, I observed the same thing as you did, the groups stayed the same with or without the MS attached to the barrel but my groups were 1.5" higher with the MS attached. This was on a Rem 700 SPS Tactical with the 20" bull barrel. There is a slight diff in muzzle velocity between the MS and my regular chronny but I believe that is because the MS is at 0 distance while the chronny is at 16 feet.

I like it, super easy to setup, simple screen, retrieval is a breeze...no more 20 minute setups with old chronny for me!
