Hey guys-not sure how to ask the question so I'll just jump in.. I have the attached red dot on a rimfire but am thinking I may be wanting to move over to a magnified optic. It's on a rifle with standard stock geometry, so naturally I'm not needing/using the riser=just the optic alone in the "low" configuration. Before I swap over to a scope, are there magnifiers for red dots that ride low (=would work with my set-up) or are they all built for red dots in the higher configuration? I don't want to change the stock so I'm not going to use the tall mount.

Found this mount that should be compatible (?) but would need it's own magnifie/sold in North Carolina. What are the chances?

I'm guessing there is already a decent option out there I'm not aware of? Not really a red dot guy but they can be fun. Would love to leave it on there...

Thanks

I've looked at this previously and the only low magnifier mount available seems to be the Arisaka you mentioned, you'll just need to purchase a compatible magnifier for it.

I have often wished there was a magnifier option for red dot sights with low mounts. I didn't know about the ARISAKA DEFENSE magnifier low flip mount. That's really cool and I'm now considering getting one myself.

There are plenty of 30mm tube magnifiers of varying quality and prices on the market that would work with that low flip mount. Most optic rings and mounts are no longer ITAR regulated so if you can find a US business like BROWNELLS that ships to Canada, you shouldn't have a problem getting it shipped here, especially since on the Canadian side, scope rings and mounts are not regulated items. You may need to wait at least a month once CBSA inspects the parcel but it should be released with a customs duty bill not long after.

Alternatively, why not reach out to a Canadian business that sells ARISAKA DEFENSE products and ask them to special order it in for you?:

what about just getting a 1-4X scope with an illuminated reticle?
I have a very nice fixed 6X standing by, most of the illuminated/low mag options seem to have 30mm tubes. Might be the better option, just wondered/hoped there was a $300-ish option I could just add and be gtg

Amazon has a Vision King 1.25-5x scope for like 110$ I had one on my AR. It's illuminated, 3 post circle dot.

I’ve got a Chinese knock off of that Arisaka mount on order from spec precision, if it gets here I’ll let you know how it works out, 65$ shipped for anyone asking, I’m in a similar position where the stock on my rifle makes the typical tall red dots not work

I would like to call this to your attention.
I had a situation in pre vacine hysteria.
The red dot (romeo7) and the magnifier (Juliet6) were not on same height. Closest I could get with shims was something like 1mm, but when you looking through the magnifier it was noticeable that the dot is not centered. And that comes to play when you zero each.
Both a same Brand and I could not have the two centerlines colinear. A lot of frustrations searching in stores and online, and I ended up parting away.
Maybe the time has changed?

My next up purchase was also a LPVO, currently I am with third one and this seem to me a keeper.
Victoptics S6 is also impressive value for the money.
