Magnum Primers or Not

Would there be any benefit in using non-magnum primers?
When you get to the more powerful handgun cartridges I seem to see most people using magnum primers in there loads.

If you do not shoot in the cold, mag primers are not necessary with h-110/win296.
However the word is that shooting in the cold without mag primers with these powders can cause the powder burn to fail and a bullet lodged in the barrel.

If you want a powder that works better without magnum primers try 2400.

Even in the warm the magnum primers ensure a more complete burn. Otherwise you can find the velocity with H110 varies due to the inconsistent ignition of the powder.

The reason I am using H-110 is because I have lots of it as I use it in my .357 mag revolver also.

Some reloading books just list large pistol primers, while others say large pistol magnum primers for .44 Rem Magnum.

Off topic but, I heard bashaw sports is closing. Is their any truth to that?

I use CCI 300's for all my .44 Mag reloads, from powder puff target loads to full power loads with H110. Never had a problem with them in any weather I am willing to shoot a handgun in.

This is kinda like asking if you can use a regular condom on a magnum size pecker.

In my opinion you will get better/proper burn of the powder by using a magnum primer. They make them for a reason.
