Anyone care to comment on this pistol? I'm thinking of buying one from Freedom Ventures but wanted some input from owners on their reliability, ease of handling, durability, etc. Thanks.:)

I don't own one, and am a new user, so I am prepared for some flaming here but:

I was interested in one, just as a collector's piece, since they are pretty cool looking, hence why they are always in movies and on TV. I did some research and it appears that a lot of people say they are quite fragile, and are a pain to shoot. I saw comments along the lines of "everytime I see someone shooting one, I leave the range so I don't get shot" pretty frequently. Most people liked them as paperweights only.

I think he is talking about the 1911 model.I commented on them down near the bottom of the page as someone asked the same question last night.

From what I have heard on the 1911 forums and various youtube video's, the Desert Eagle 1911 is very well made apparently. I haven't handled one first hand.

No, no, no...I love my DE. It goes to the range with me every time. Looks great, shoots great and is awesome. That quote about leaving the range is pretty stupid tho. If you were in my neighborhood Id let you you try her! Guaranteed fun. As for the 1911...I have no idea about them. :)
