Magnum Research Railed 1911 Opinions?

Been out of shooting a while slowly working my way back. Looking for a railed 1911 for $1500 all in and shipped range wanting something a little different. Anything except stainless. Anybody here own one? How do they compare to others in the price range? Internet reviews can be sketchy would love to hear from someone who shoots one.

I've never heard anything bad about them, I was thinking of getting one of those at one time, but I couldn't get past the DESERT EAGLE on the slide, that ruined it for me.

For $1500 I'd be more interested in a SIG, STI, Springfield, or Kimber.
