I understand your point, and for most situations I'd hold your opinion. But it's a cheek riser, not an integral component of the rifle. I'll be honest, I didn't realize they were branded or marked different, but I really don't think it's a cause of concern. MILSIG was the first place I found them in stock in black so I ordered up. On a T97, nine chances out of ten the user will be double-sided taping it to the rifle, so integrity of the plastic wouldn't be an issue I'd be worrying about, espcially when it has to be trimmed and modified to fit properly anyways. But that just me...
Anyways, for some more info to the OP, using the .75 lined up perfect using a scope on low rings, but made the irons un-useable, for me anyways. 0.5" may do the trick for a decent medium. However, if I want to run optics I'll install T97.ca's new Flat Top Upper with some BUIS. Just seems like a better option.
