I just bought a magpul acs-l stock and i'm having a problem getting the pin to clear the buffer tube so I can install the stock. Tried pulling down hard on the pin to get it to clear the buffer tube but no luck yet, watched some you tube videos too but still no luck. Does anyone know of a good technique to get this stock on? Thanks.

It can be a b**ch to get on. Push up on the lever that moves the stock up and down and then pull down as hard as you can the rest of the way. Otherwise you can use a large flat head screw driver to leverage the pin down.

I tried leveraging a screwdriver inside the pin to leverage the pin down but the inside of the pin is smooth and doesn't afford any leverage on the pin to pull it down.

I used a screwdriver on my acs. Maybe the acsl has other problems. What is this on? Are you trying to put a mil spec stock on a commercial tube?

Pull the pin down from both sides HARD with your thumbnails. It will hurt, but it will go on. You don't need tools.

Ya I finally got it, I ended up unscrewing the stock pad on the end and went in with a screw driver to depress the pin from the opposite end, it worked. Thanks for the tips though.

I was literally just trying to figure the same thing out...went with a glove and pulled hard on the pin from both sides...it does move a little further even after it seems it is bottomed out.

When you squeeze the adjusting lever it exposes a small hole in the pin (under the friction lock). You can use the supplied 5.56 dummy round or any number of improvised alternatives to pry the pin up the rest of the way and the stock slides right on.
