MagPul AR MOE or CTR?

Hey guys,

Want to swap out my AR stock with the MagPul milspec because I like its ergonomics much better.

Recently fondled the MOE & dig its contours better but its just as sloppy as the M4 stock on the buffer tube.

Does the CTR tighten that up as much as advertised? Its .05 ib heavier so not a big deal but like to always be mindful of any weight increases since they add up !

Thanks for the replies. Seems like the CTR milspec is what I'm looking for.

A guy with a MOE milspec with an "enhanced" rubber pad that looked different than the usual one that comes with it. Looked like an option vs something he changed. Haven't seen this advertised. Am I missing something? The AR has pretty light recoil so not too worried about it just haven't seen it offered with a different pad and was curious.

Ha, sorry man but you got the wrong dude. He certainly seemed like a character though from the few posts I've seen.

Seriously though, am I mistaken about the pad option this guy mentioned because I haven't seen it anywhere.

You can see it on my build too - it's the enhanced buttpad. Get the CTR - it's much better than the moe.

if you don't mind spending a bit more, get the ACS. I love it and its super tight and has great cheek weld.

I have both... the CTR is better but IMO, the MOE is fine for every day shooting. Mine isnt loose on my commercial tubes. No more or less than my CTR anyway. The only difference I can see is the lock for the adjustment lever, which is something I never use anyway.

Ok, so the enhanced pad is real. Funny, I've never seen it listed as an option.

CTR and grip in OD Green it is. Gotta order it soon because this M4 stock is not thrilling me.

I really like the STR and "enhanced recoil pad" combination, I find it a lot more comfortable than the MOE with standard recoil pad.

The CTR was developed as a solution to the potential looseness of the MOE, in response to user-feedback.

My optimal AR stock is the UBR, which is heavier than the CTR but better balances the front-heavy feel of the AR, which creeps in after I've adapted to holding either of my bullpups (Tavor or RFB).

These pads fit on most or all of the Magpul AR15 stock line. I'm going to buy a few of these for the little LOP extension... going from the base M4 stock to my CTR with .55" recoil pad was a huge improvement in feel and LOP.

I will probably buy 2 more CTR's, one in Black and another in ODG (for my other 2 black rifles) and the .55" or .70" buttpads.
