Magpul CTR carbine stock

yeah its a replacement for the old M93. The UBR is their top of the line stock. THe CTR is the entry level one. Supposively the M93 was to complex to manufacturer so they came up with this new UBR design... I am waiting to buy a nice black one.

Not to sure I have only shot a Vltor stocked gun once before. Theres lots on this forum that should have advice. Im just going with Magpul cause I have bought a few things from magpul, grips, followers, ladder rails etc and have been happy with the quality.

I have a CTR and I'm extremly happy with it. It's nice and light and locks up super tight. Sure it's not as rugged as a M93, but I'm not breaking windows (or faces) with it. For what I use it for, it's perfect. The biggest selling points to me were it looks cool and it's very affordable. I'd choose one over a regular 6 pos stock any day.

Wow, that UBR is a great idea. I've been looking for an adjustable stock that keeps a consistent cheek weld. I'll have to pick one up for my AR.

Tron:

Where can one find one of those CTR Stocks ? Wolverine maybe ?

I'm hoping that the CTR stock will not shake rattle or roll like my previous 6 position collapsing stock did. Then I went back to an A1 stock since the A2 stocks are too long to shoot with a vest on.

At 500m, my folding 6 position stock spreads my groups out by shaking too much, that's why I cannot trust folding stocks to remain steady when shooting at medium (300 to 500m) ranges.

Feedback ?

I just picked up a black CTR from Dave's Sports in Vancouver, for a great price. The customer service was excellent and they had it deliverd in 2 days.

The CTR has a secondary stabilizer "clamp", which holds the stock rigid on the set position. The lock-up is solid and there is no "rattle" or movement. Highly recommended over the standard AR stock.

I guess I gotta go and buy myself a milspec 6 position carbine buffer tube , eh? I forgot to mention that I've got the standard A1/A2 buffer tube and buffer on my Bushy lower right now....

I just visited the 'Dealer Forum'.. Wolverine says they cannot get the CTR and UBR stocks at all. US State Department hassles.

Read about it here:

Cheers and sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Just a word of advice on the M93

If you are changing optics, the M93 is more adjustable, and I find it allot easier to set it to the right length to get proper eye relief for all my optics.

I have one of about every stock (that will fit a milspec tube) and the Magpul M93 (5 or them).

The most ridgid stock is the M93 (well the UBR too -- but is still pre-release).
Behind that is the CTR -- however the true bonus for the CTR is the fact you can simply drop it on an issue rifle (people frown when you put a M93 on a work gun a lot of the time)

Then as far as the more conventional stocks go the LMT, VLTOR and other.

I prefer the CTR to the Crane/LMT - and the Crane to the VLTOR
then the Colt M4 improved stock, to the Colt M4 stock etc.

I've been drooling for a UBR for over a year now  , if they would bloody well just release it i will find a way to get one up here.:D
It's just plain mean to dangle such a piece of meat over my nose for so long...:(
