MagPul forearm on 590A1

My 590A1 came 'as new' with extra goodies - a MagPul butt stock and forearm installed.

I like the butt stock, but I just re-installed the original 'corn cob' fore end as it suits my small paw better. With the MagPul unit, my hand kept slipping under recoil during rapid operation. I get better 'gription' with the factory part.

Anybody else had a similar revelation?

The original corncob may be cheap and plain looking, but it just plain works. Even the ones in wood are quite good, as long as the grooves are distinct. I especially like the one with the strap, on my 14". You definitely do not want any slippage on a SBS, as the result can be catastrophic.

What you need are the 3M grips that fit the 500/590 forend slots.

Or, some owners have stippled the forend with good results.
