Magpul front MBUS not folding flat?

Hi,

I recently finished building my first AR and I noticed that my front MBUS sight would not lay flat when folded. There is a bit of an angle and the top of the sight is about a 1/4 inch above the rail. These are not the PTS stuff, bought it from a reputable dealer and the rear sight sits nice and flat when folded.

I tried to find pics on the internet, they pretty much all seemed to lay flat. Is this a common issue?

Have you tried removing and re-installing? Do they lay flat when NOT on the gun? Maybe rail is out of spec and it is causing interference (not likely but you never know, try a different location on the rail just to test it)...Or maybe loc-tite got on the pivot pin....Just some of my thoughts.

I hope you figure it out. They are decent sights for intended purpose.
 
I thought it was just a PTS issue. I had a pair that didn't lay flat... got fed up, and just bought some MI buis off the EE instead... couldn't be happier with them (the midwest industries ones)
