As an upgrade for a Remington SPS Tac. 16" AAC-SD

Pros/cons of both stock options.

General hunting/whacking the gong at 4-600m.

And go.

I went through the same thing, just ordered the magpul.

I have heard that the magpul performs to the same level as the MDT stocks and at a considerably smaller price tag. The one thing I liked about the MDT over the magpul is the option to use multiple butt stocks. In the end I couldnt justify the $$$ so went with magpul.

Interesting. Magpul + Bottom metal and you are pretty close to a MDT. Of course add in grip and Stock, and you more, but not that much more.

true. I was looking at a more expensive butt stock (as much as the magpul stock), plus like you said I would need a buffer tube, and grip.

So if you went with a cheaper, basic AR stock it wouldnt, be that much more. But as soon as you look at the adjustable butt stocks the price jumps significantly.

I personally went with magpul hunter for my 20". Havent shot yet, but the stock seems nice and sold for the money. Ended up getting a never used stock and detach mag kit on the EE for 425$ to my door. Keep in mind that unless you have surplus parts kicking around, you will need to buy a buffer tube, castle nut, stock, cheek riser and pistol grip. All those "little things" can add up to a couple hundred bucks easily
