I'm sure this question has been asked so please forgive me, I've tried searching but no luck. I've recently purchased the 700 hunter stock and mag well for DBM is on its way to me.. My rifle is .223 however and not .308 which is the mag that comes with the mag well. I'm just wondering where I might aquire some mags for .223 that will work with this set up?

Thanks in advance and sorry again for asking something that I know for sure has been beaten to death.

I don't think it has been beaten to death but any AICS-spec magazines (5.56x45) will work. I have the MAGPUL Hunter 700 Stock on my 308 and will be getting one for my .223 so I am in the same boat.

Cheers

Wolverine had the real AI .223 mags a while back when I was entertaining the idea of inletting a stock for bottom metal. They were $69 for 10 rnds. Couldn't find any 5 rnd mags, which is what I was after.

Thanks for the input, I'll be sure to checkout wolverine as well!

Can someone explain to me why I cannot just buy the Magpul DBM kit with a mag for .223? It seems unbelievably stupid that I have to buy the DBM kit that comes with a different mag than I require, try and sell it and then purchase ones from a different manufacturer(s) to suit my needs.

I have the Magpul Hunter and have one Accuracy International polymer mag that fits extremely well.
I bought 2 MDT mags as they had a good reputation and they're Canadian ..... BUT they don't fit worth a chit! After grinding, filing and sanding meticulously for an hour each they will seat by pushing them in with one finger but still require a bit of a wiggle and tug to get them out. Not sure how they feed yet??
Magpul only says that their mags are coming but there are none to be had in Noth America.
Accuracy International only seems to make the more expensive ($90) metal mags now. Don't know anything about them.
Production seems to be geared more toward the latest newer calibers :(
I think I'll try the Ruger Scout mags next ($60)
