Hello sages,

Given the drought of NEA bits, I'm looking for a mounting solution for a few 858s with NEA lower hand guards.

The Magpul poly segments have caught my eye as they look similar on the back (without the raised washer) and the bolt bits look like they'll do the job.

Anyone care to opine? Your responses are appreciated.

Did you try this? I was thinking of trying the Magpul rails on an original handguard (drilled and reinforced), wondering if the bolt hardware can be adapted.

The modular lower hand guard takes TROY industries rail sections. The Troy industries VZ-58 battle rail is made by NEA for Troy. The NEA rail and the Troy rail are the same. Hence why you see TROYs signature circular mounting holes on the hand guard. There fore TROY rail sections should fit.

I've put Magpul rails on the NEA handguard, I attached them using washers (to fit the handguard), and locking washers (to fit inside the bigger washer so that the bolt doesn't move around, the washer hole is too big without the locking washers). Works good.
