MAGPUL Pre-Production UBR Stocks Shipping!

Well, for the lucky few who managed to hit the Magpul website last week and get their order in for the very limited number of pre-production UBR stocks, they started shipping this past Monday and our American cousins are now starting to receive them. Magpul is basically using this pre-production lot as test stocks, let the owners use/play with them, identify any issues, improvements, etc...before they ramp up for full production. Guys who bought the pre-production models can exchange them for the production model if any changes/upgrades are necessary.

They look like a pretty sweet stock, but I don't think I'll give up on my LMT SOPMODs for them. Still, it would be nice if we had the option to purchase these. I guess there is some hope, given the fact that CTR continue to trickle in and the haphazard manner in which the US State Dept. tends to apply their restrictions.

They're all gone - sold out! M4carbine.net reported that some guys got them, but they won't be in ACTUAL production until Q2 of 08 (at the earliest).

The UBR does look pretty slick...but like Reaper, I quite like the CTR I have now. I'm not in any rush to switch.

But there's a perfectly valid reason. It's newer, better, shinier, ###ier, higher-speed, and lower-drag. It's also uber-###y seeing as it's made from Unobtanium for the moment.

I prefer the look of the CTR and Sopmod.
I bought a CTR milspec for a future carbine and I wouldn't even consider changing it for that new stock.
