Magpul Sga mossberg 590/590a1 stock thumb clip

Decided today to install my SGA stock on my 1301 and I can’t get the damn thumb clip to clip properly. I tried muscling it in but no go. Anyone else have this issue and what was the solution?

I emailed magpul customer service but they said they can’t help me cause I am in Canada, otherwise they would just mail me a new clip.

Does it fit into place when disassembled? Maybe the stock screw is sticking out too far?

Nope won’t fit disassembled

Update:

Emailed Casey at TacOrd. He called me back in like 5 mins and he walked me through a solution over the phone. Best damn customer service I have ever had. He said he had the same problem the other day and found the solution. Just waiting on my handguard now.

The tab underneath was molded pointed to the front too much. It needs to be bent down so it’s more facing downwards almost 90 degrees. I did think of it before talking to Casey but I was worried it would snap if I did that. But Casey said it should bend since he did it the day before with one of his. Worked like a charm clipped right in after bending it downwards.
