We should have a couple of prototypes of this design at the Shot Show.

The UBR fills the gap between the CTR and the PRS stocks.

Things might change as the design gets futher along but it will look something like this.

It uses an A1 design tube shortened to carbine length, so should be as easy as an A2 stock to install. Lock and grooves are both Aluminum. Presets are metal also. Stock should lock up as solid as a fixed stock.

Intergal rubber butt pad, 3 point/single point QD sling mounts. Removable storage options.

Movable and removable cheek weld option.

Whats the practical use of that storage compartment? On the 3rd pic it looks like its some flimsy hinge, but the rest are screwed on.

small tool storage, extra batteries for optics, condoms:eek: I like it

The UBR certainly has a "clean" look compared to the M93 series. Still, I kind of like the "Robot Foot" appearance of the latter.

Call me a "traditionalist".... or simply a fan of "ugly but functional".

I will happily give someone $100 for their 93 when they upgrade to this new one.

Rich has commented on a few forums that the M93 was a giant problem to manufacturer - the new gen is designed to have a similar functioning stock that he will not lose money on producing...

The manufacturing process is much more streamlined and the stock will cost less to the consumer.

Had a long talk to Magpul staff at the SHOT show today...

The UBR has a suggested US Retail List Price of $225.00 and is scheduled for release mid 2006... will be available for use with either Milspec Carbine Tubes or non-Milspec Carbine Tubes.

The PRS has a suggested US Retail List Price of $255.00 and is shipping now.

The "new" CTR (Compact Type Restricted Stock) will be available shortly and has a US Retail List Price of $97.00

The intention appears to be to phase out the M93 though no timeframe was indicated.
