Okay folks...Just got my better half a G17 to replace her G22 as she is more comfortable shooting IPSC....Now adding new mags, I have read dozens of reviews regarding Magpul vs Glock and I still dont know which way to go.....Price point for 6 mags goes to Magpul but the reviews are 50-50.....What say you all??
TIA

Magpul are 100% polymer, will not work with magnetic mag holders.
Is it possible to use G22 mags in G17 for the time being?
Everyone’s setup is different, I often see 4-5 regular pouches, plus 1-2 magnets. I use 4+1, bullets out

I have never had any issues with magpul mags in my G17MOS. Only thing I worry about is mag drops onto a concrete floor at indoor matches. I haven't shot an indoor match for a year or so, but it just makes me go hmmm, probably over thinking it tho... All the magpul stuff I have has been bullet proof.

When I'm shooting the G17M, I just grab the first 8 mags off the pile regardless of Magpul or oem. My Zev OZ9 actually prefers the magpul, I have a couple of oem mags that don't drop free from the OZ9, but all my magpuls do. ev actually ships with magpul mags.

I agree, buy a couple and see for yourself.

I ran Magpul mags for my black badge this weekend. Held up just fine being dropped on concrete, other than the odd ejected round when they dropped but everyone’s mags were doing that. Magpul also makes a rubberized baseplate for them.

I use only magpul mags because they are thinner and have less drag along the inside of the mag well. Also I sometimes shoot with an OZ9 and the grip on that gun is too narrow to accommodate glock OEM mags.

Early version magpul stuck in the magwell, this issue has been solved for a while. I use Glocks and Magpul in my Glock19 and I tend to prefer OEMs for matches.

If you are a (very very) high volume shooter, the magpul mags will wear out at the feed lips long before oem mags.

Having said that, the vast majority of shooters will never put enough rounds through their magpul mags for it ever to be an issue.
