Magpull Stock!

what about the front handguard mount thingy up by the gas block? what do I do with that? or do I take off my gas block to get rid of it?
and yeah I'll be cutting the ring off. Not gonna #### around with the barrel nut.

Haul it in to Hunter's. It's a 5-10 minute job to yank a barrel off and fiddle around with that end with the right tools. It beats making a mess out of it hacking away with a dremel.

If your gun has a carbine gas system ( 7" system) that 9" rail will cover most of the gas block, so you need to cut the gas block down or replace with a low profile one and remove the handguard ring. I don't know about the Troy but I suspect you need to remove the front handguard ring thing!!

Once the barrel delta ring is removed, the handguard clamps around the barrel nut where the delta ring used to be, thats how you get the uninterupted top rail look. I too would also remove the barrel, then the delta ring comes off with a c-clamp tool, no mess and if you change your design (like that will never happen) at least you can re-install the ring.

I have a midlength picatinny gas block, 9 inches takes it up to within .25" of the gas block.
I'll be Dremeling the Delta ring cuz I like Dremel tools :). If I need to I'll yank the gas block off and take off that front ring.

hmph turns out I need a new buffer too, as the one from the fixed stock is too long. Or can I just cut it to fit?

i don't know about stress yada yada. All I know is that we were able to crack a M93A.

People gonna kill me here but in my opinion the M93 is a s**tty design. It looks like some dude pile up a bunch of materials ( aka the brute force approach) to make it stronger! If one ply is not good enough, lets nail 3 plys together!! The sharp edges....the screw....the horror?? Where is the industrial designer? Design is the expression of the clarity of thought. The M93 looks like the end result of "home improvement" one off project. The new products are quantum leaped ahead. Looks like they fired the last designer, give him the boot in the ass and get some REAL designers.

Look at the Crane stock, the designer uses his/her brain. Instead of using more metal, plastic and screws, it uses geomtry to achieve the same result. Cheaper to make with a lighter end product. Much more Elegant solution.

I don't find my magpul to be heavier than the Crane. I smashed a passenger side window with it and took a good smack at an (already broken) windsheild with it and it's fine.

While I find it could use a butt pad only if you shoulder it off your rig (it lands on my CIRAS) I don't have any issues with sharp edges.

It IS UGLY however (especially in black LOL). But looks were not a deciding factor for me. I liked having more than 6 positions. Depending on how I have the AR scoped, being able to find a postion that has perfect eye relief is easier than with the Crane or other 6 position stocks in my opinion.

My .02.

I have a spare carbine length buffer and spring if you want it...

Don't be cheap, buy a carbine buffer Slavex.

It may be heavy but I love my 93B. Rock solid and great length of pull for a gorilla like me. Very high LCF as well and that dosen't hurt.

got the spring and buffer, got the Specter Mout sling (with HK clasp), and the Magpul HK sling mount. Put money down on an Aimpoint, that's not set in stone yet, but will be shortly I think. I do like the Reflex, but don't feel like putting out a couple hundred bucks again in 10 years to get the tritium replaced. The Aimpoint should do all I need it to do. Rail should be on the way.
Looking for a GGG&G offset rail thingee, the one that allows you to put stuff on a rail at a 45 degree angle.
What's a good vert foregrip?
and then eventually BUIS's

Not that it sounds like you needed it, but magpul makes a strike plate that attaches to the 93b -apparently for the specific purpose of breaking windows...
