Mags compatible with 10/22 tactical

Hey guys I just ordered a 10/22 tactical and I have now learned because it has a deep mag well it is not compatible with certain adapters and magazines. Just wanted to see if someone else who owns the same gun can recommend the best mags to use.

I own both and personally like the box magazine (the #1 in your list). That came with my 10/22 and I have since bought identical units. I like the fact that it is flush against the gun, but that is because I have a wooden stock 10/22 and the black mag looks weird on it (in my view). The long mag is OK, but pinned to 10 anyways. I have/had some Butler Creek 25 round steel lips mags before, but those are now prohibited so can't use them or buy them. For the tactical 10/22, you may like the #2 on your list, though in my case, it seems to be picky about the ammo it will feed but that may just be my mag. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Obviously from a value perspective #1 is a better deal as you get more bang for your buck, so to speak.

Thanks! I am thinking of also getting the duo mag adapter. That way I can take two of the little 10 round mags and stick them together. To be honest I would only get the 25 rd mag pinned at 10 because it looks better lol, will likely just buy a couple of each

Yes, with the tactical version, the black would look a lot better.

My old Butler Creek 25 mag (the aforementioned one that is now prohibited even though it has been in retail circulation around for 40+ years) was clear (looked like something from airsoft) - that was an eyesore, but I bought for functionality (steel lips fed perfectly) rather than aesthetics.

The best option is to do the DLASK modification and run the TUFF 22, 25 rounders from Wolverine Supplies.

I did mine with a dremel tool and a file, then painted the slot black. Looks great and runs just fine.

This is the mod to fit a DLASK Tuf 22 mag. The slot dimensions are not critical in any way as long as it does not bind when inserting the mag.

The depth of the slot is just above the scuff mark on the ramp.

The width is just clear of the width of the block on the front of the mag.

Geez I miss those . I had to replace mine with a handful of box mags when the government went mental and banned them . Gopher season , which is all summer here was wayyyyy nicer with those bc steel lips . Three of them stuffed in my jeans back pockets and I could walk and plink for a couple hours ....now I’ve got these stupid box things .

Is it possible to get the BC mags pinned to 10 to make them legal? Not sure if the plastic is drillable or would crack otherwise. Would hate to just throw out if there was a way to get them retrofitted to make them legal.

I too bought a few boxed ones as well - at the time I didn't see many other options to the OEM ones that didn't have feeding issues..
