I just purchased a Norinco 1911 waiting for paper work with only 1 mag and was wondering what mags are best to purchase for this. The originals or which aftermarket. I would like to also use them with a Springfield loaded operator I will be purchasing this spring.

Original Colt mags worked well for mine. Then again, so did the norinco ones!

I would get USGI mags from Marstar, or Wilsons or Chip McCormick.

Either way, you should be able to get some Colt's or USGI's for less than $20 each.

I use McCormicks mags in my gun work great also got one of their conversions to change the original 7 rd mags to 8rd

I have some Mec-Gar mags that work great. Make sure you get good mags like Colt, Wilson, Mec-Gar, CMC... If you don't know about a mag manufacturer make sure you ask first.

Get good mags, regardless of the make of your gun. My favs are Wilson or CMC, both of which will work in your Norinco and the soon-to-be-yours Springfield :D

The only thing I'd do with a Norinco mag is keep it with the gun for when I sold it. Quality after-market 1911 mags are the way to go if you want to do serious shooting... ;) :)

I thought new norcs all came from the factory with two mags??? Everyone I ever bought did

whats up with that??

I believe Marstar sells their Norc 1911's with one mag only...

you can buy norinco mag from Lever Arms for $18/each. The way Marstar sells rinco gun is kinda tricky. Their prices might seem lower than Lever Arms, but when you add things like mag up to your total cost, it ends up with almost the same price cuz you almost pay the shipping. So it works out the same for guys living in GVRD.

you forgot the warantee that Marstar offers... in speaking /w the guys at lever they told me their guns have no warantee... this was a few years ago so maybe things are different now
