Hey guys

Looking to pick up some mags for the Tavor.

People are saying that the Pmags can damage the bolt?!?! wondering what do you guys use looking for something that drops free. Also anyone have problems with pistol mags?

I use D&H mags. Mostly because I run the same mags for AR rifles and my Tavor. With the Pmag gen2 were supposibly causing damage. Gen3 has notched back so is now good. I also went D&H due to the cost of Pmags and above problem. So far happy with them. The LAR mag I have works fine too.

The LAR-15 mags have worked fairly well for me. I had the bolt fail to lock open once with them. The usgi mags have worked flawlessly. Same for the AT-15 mags, I've got 600 rounds through them without a issue of any kind. The AT-15 mag is all I'll buy now. I had one failure with a second gen pmag. It pushed a round into the chamber, but the bolt wouldn't close all the way. I believe it was a failure to go into battery.

Get the atrs 15 mags from alberta rifle, you just have to cut and file the bolt catch open into a U shape instead of the V shape.

Why do you have to file them? Mine haven't been modified and they work perfectly... So far anyway.

The U/V shape at the back of the feed lips opening, where the follower hits the bolt hold open latch, needs to be squared up like USGI mag. If you don't the bolt hold open can hit on the mag body just enough that it will cause the bolt hold open arm to move up ever so slightly, causing wear and possibly a stoppage.

You might be causing damage on your bolt latch and it could cause a big problem with your bolt. I'd cut and file them as soon as possible so the slot is exactly like a USGI mag.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I haven't damaged my rifle. I'll be remedying this soon.
