I got couple questions to those who ordered from US pistol mags that are higher than 10rd capacity. Will mags be shipped to Canada unpinned? If so - what is best way to pin them so they don't stuck in magwell?
Thank you!

Dont

If you already have you might want to remember that if they do get to you that there is currently a guy in prison from BC for attempting to get just mag bodies and pin them himself. It is a prohibited device and if you are in possession of it you are breaking the law regardless of what you intend to do.

No individual can import pinned high cap mags unless you have a rivet gun in the trunk doing it at the US side. Then again you are breaking itar law there too by exporting it yourself. So lose lose either way

It's easy to order Canadian legal mags from the US as lots of states have 10 round magazine limits. Because of this most online retailers list both regular capacity and mags pinned to 10. Brownells is a good source and they ship to Canada.

Look at IRG, I think they pin mags you buy from them.

Ended up ordering factory 10rd from canadian store.

I wonder if IRG takes in account magwell clearances when pinning. Had anyone ever got mags from them that couldn't be inserted because of added thickness?

The pinned mags I purchased from IRG were very well done, no issues with clearance at all.

I've bought tons of mags shipped from US. CZ and P226 and desert eagle. After shipping costs, crazy exchane rate and the occasionnal taxes, they end up about 1/2 the price of buying them in Canada. I also got magazines that are legal but very uncommon in canada, like 10 rounds 1911 magazines. They seem to never run out of mags for the most popular stuff like CZ75, 1911, P226.

I get them from brownells, they fill all the state department export forms so no export problem, and they will only ship magazines that are legal in canada. So if you buy, say, a 10 rounds pistol magazine, you'll get an actual factory 10 rounds magazine, not something pinned to 10. That's much better imho, as sometimes the guy who pins the magazines places the pin a bit too high, like it's pinned to 9.9 instead of 10, and then it's either super hard or just impossible to insert the 10th round. As far as I know, their website will outright refuse to sell you a 14 or 17 rounds mags or anything that's not canada legal.

10 round mags are cheaper in US and easy to get in.

10+ pinned are often cheaper in Canada. In alternative, a few places in US will pin them for you for free if you buy from them. Another option is to go to US, pin it yourself and then bring them.

NO it is NOT, unless you like going to club fed. You'd be in contravention of ITAR
