By the looks of things here on the forum, there is scarcely a firearms safe without at least one or two polymer framed wonder guns taking up real estate. These pistols are designed to be simple to maintain and care for, but what about the frame itself? Some say nothing more than soap and water to clean the frame,as some cleaners with extract the oils in the polymer...dry it out and bleach it,leaving it brittle over time. I have extensive experience with different plastics in my job and know that this theory is true with automotive plastics. I'd be interested in hearing how some of the veterans on the forum care for polymer.
