Makarov Pistols

The nature of those pesky sanctions. It's not the pistols themselves that cannot be imported, it's the manufacturer that is sanctioned and we can't buy from them.

So, if those SKS are coming from army depots in the Ukraine, which is where they most commonly came from, then they are allowed in. (Ukraine may or may not be selling them in as large numbers though)

Interammo used to sell those years back. They are an importer of all sorts of interesting Russian firearms. Another place to look is Baikal. They have a rep office in Toronto.

I have just heard that Canada can no longer import Makarov's? Does this go for all Russian imports SKS etc. Anyone know?
Thanks, Bob

I'm afraid EE is your only friend. The Makarovs we imported were made on our order with legal in Canada 106mm barrels. Nobody else imported them. Baikal in Toronto has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of surplus (including unissued) Makarovs in the world , but they are all prohibited due to the barrel length. They won't be allowed to Canada unless you have them re-barreled before crossing the border.
