What makes of mag will work in the T97?? I hear people have issues with some of them. And what's this about a ten shot ar mag that's legal to use with ten shots unblocked?

I use the USGI mags from Dlask. Never had an issue.. even had a few buddys try to run off with them in their T97s :p

The ten rounders are the LAR magazines I believe.. the 15 round mags are Beowulfs but I haven't tried them yet.

I'm new to the blackrifles spent years using nothing but milsurp arms and a number of those are legal to carry with more than 5 round cap.

As per RCMP memo #72 the Lar 15 pistol mags can legally hold 10 rounds, the .50 Beowulf marked mags can legally hold 14(?) I think...

Any magazine designed to work in an AR-15 should work in a T-97, if they don't it's probably the rifle is slightly out of spec (normal for Norinco products) If you buy one and it doesn't work the solution is to try a different one.

LAR mags can be found at most retailers in Alberta that carry AR-15's. They are not uncommon but as you can probably imagine they sell fairly quickly.

Used to own around 12 or more ar mags all waffle type mags and steel mags 10 shot 20 shot and 30shot mags wound up selling them over the years sorta wish I hadn't had a number of Nam issue ones too really wish I'd kept those.

Never sell magazines. You can never have too many.

Ok I'll look around. Trying to source some in Alberta if possible.

Since you want to buy in Alberta, ATRS in Calgary sells 10 round AR Pistol mags.

I've used pmags, GI mags, xcr pistol mags, grey LAR mags and Alexander arms beo mags. All worked great. Lately tho I've been using the PCV beo mags. I like the smaller size of them. I just had to lightly smooth up the seams on the spines of the mags where the 2 molds meet in the manufacturing process. Now the insert easily and drop free. Not sure they will last as long as metal mags. If I was you I'd look into getting some of the new c-products beowulf mags that are making their way into the country. They are the length of a 20 rounder.
