Hey Guys,
I have seen parts and kits for the 10/22 rifle,Does anyone know if they make one like a M-1 carbine? This is one reason i picked up the rifle. Also where do you guys go for parts here in CDN?

Thanks,
Dave

purchaced on the EE recently by myself. guy i purchaced from did not do the conversion.but whomever did , did an ok job. chicago kit is next. going to mount a standard 10-22 mag to a real thompson stick mag i got at a show this weekend to finish it up. wish i could find the green mountain barrel that has the fins like the old tommy guns.

I asked Skirsons about his viz-modded 10/22, and he told me this:

It's not too hard. You need to remove a little wood from the sides with a dremel and from the opening at the bottom. You also need to add wood into the channel that holds the M1 Carbine return piston. I did it in a few hours so it's not a difficult project. Getting theupper handguard to fit requires a scope rail turned backwards and cut short just long enough so it holds the rear of the handguard in place.

You can see it in this pic:

Heyo,

How hard was it to get the 10/22 to fit into the M1 Carbine stock?

I have a friend in California who is considering trying to put a 10/22 into one of these: http://www.sarcoinc.com/m2potbelly.html

Nathan

Before I put on an aftermarket stock (changing the rifles over-all appearance) mine looked quite a bit like an M-1, just by adding a muzzle brake and tech-sights (basically what the rifle above has got).

that is one really nice conversion! I love M1 Carbines but do not want a restricted rifles because I hate being limited to shoot it only at ranges... (I know there are non restricted ones but havent been able to find one yet that I like)

Thats exactly what I did, except I like the look of the 10 round mag better, still not straight, but better proportions.
