Making a Red Dot brighter?

I have noticed that my cheapo Tasco red dot is rather dim in daylight.

The laser is plenty powerful, but the rear lens it projects on seems to be too clear or the laser to get a good reflection on in sunlight conditions.

So I have been milling over the idea of looking into a camera lens filter to attach/slip-on the forward lens to make the laser brighter.

Any folks with camera filter knowledge have any ideas on this?

What colour filter would improve a red dot? Blue?

Any one try such a mod?

LOL, while that sort of works it messes with ones depth perception to be bind in one eye like that, not to mention it gives me brutal eyestrain.
