I've seen some guys do it. Using XCR 10rd pistol magazines in a 7.62x39 Vz 58 with the CSA AR magwell adapter meant for the 5.56x45 Vz 58. What do I need to do to make it work with a 7.62x39 Vz?
 
It really depends on the mag well and year of CSA. The older CSA receivers were machined differently. I have a B&T mag well in my 2013 CSA in 7.62x39. Works 100% and I had to do nothing except slight fitting of the mag. . Only issue for me is it only works with ASC XCR mags which are impossible to find. Can't seem to find anymore!!
 
Do we 7.62 owners gain anything special by getting one of these adapters? Or is this strictly for guys who wants to make their VZ as AR15 as possible?
My understanding is that the .223 VZ models have proprietary mags that only CSA makes that are very difficult to find. Getting a magwell adapter in this case would make perfect sense since it opens up your options significantly..
 
I did no modifying to my 2013 CSA and B&t mag well. Minor mag fitment required to the mags. Anyone have any ASC mags they are willing to part with or trade? That has been my issue as these are the only mags that work. Mine has never FTF and solid operation. Well worth the upgrade.
