I've revived the idea of buying a Littleton shot maker;

Does anyone have one? If so do you use wheel weights?
I'm thinking of getting a 20lb Lee production pot to clen lead, is there a better way. Cast iron pot with a bottom discharge on a propane burner for example?
Is there a commercial pot availble with a bottom discharge to put on a propane stove?
I've made sinkers and decoy weights in the past in a simple pot so i understand the basics of lead casting... but will take any advice,

Lead

Shot making is easy but could be injurious to your body. Always do it outside and always with a hepafilter mask on your face. A shower and complete change of clothes will also help after casting.

Lead intoxication as it is euphemistically termed is a problem - For many of our brethen, gifted by nature with modest IQ levels, the effects may be imperceptible. Your choice...

Take care...

Have had a Littleton for three years now, works very well once you work out a few kinks. Wheel weights are melted into ignots, 1 lb or 1/2 lb using just a large pot over a propane camp stove. Skim off the crud and pour into the moulds. We use brake fluid for a coolant, with a circulating pump thru a rad to keep the liquid temp down. Screen for size and wash with liquid Tide, put on screens in the sun to dry. Members at the trap club are shooting 25's with the stuff, so quality control must be working.

BD..

You must also watch where you exhaust the fumes produced by your setup.One fellow that I know was fined substancially for directing the exhaust from his setup in public where other people could inhale the fumes.

Thanks for the info

Yhanks guys,
I'm in the country so fumes would only be inhaled by tresspassers. But on that note it's reason to use respitory protection!
i guess I'll start looking for a unit in Canada now,
