Gentlemen,
The two photo's on this file show us to makes of M1 Garand stocks. The First shaper is making only one stock at a time. Notice how it follows the MASTER on top. The second shows the shape and sanding. It can do two stocks at a time.

Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History. Your input is very important to all of us.

I have to say thanks for all these historical documents that you post on the M1. I find them interesting. It appears that the Master stock is somewhat over sized and unproportionate to a finished stock, unless it is distortion in the picture. Duplicators that I have seen the Master stock is proportional.
 
I think it's fantastic to see all those machines from before injection molding and CNC machining "era"...

Took the liberty of "augmenting" them to have a better look, might was well post them!
